The surname "Macguire" is an Anglicized form of the Irish surname "Mag Uidhir". It is derived from the Gaelic word "odhar," meaning "sallow" or "dun-colored," and literally translates to "son of Odhar". The Mag Uidhir family were the ruling clan of Fermanagh in Ireland, from the 13th to the 17th century.
